At Applause Multimedia, we design and install the finest quality audio, video, and control systems for a wide variety of tastes and budgets. Roughly 80% of our projects are home systems and 20% are for business. Our company has been in around for about forty years and have completed projects as high as several million dollars. The extensive background that we have in commercial work gives us an edge over other retail audio and video companies. Their main experience is equipment retail sales only. We are fully aware of all of the demands and pitfalls of the construction business.
Audio, Video and Control Systems

control systems
- High-tech control systems that allow the installation of an infinite number of listening and viewing areas throughout the home. Typical home entertainment systems can be complex to operate. However, with our Crestron control systems, an audio and video zone can be activated by the touch of a single touchscreen button. In addition, with the touch of another button the entire home can be turned on. Each zone will start at a preset volume level.
- The system can be controlled by the following methods:
- Apple iPads and iPhones can control systems from anywhere in the world.
- Wired wall-mounted, or desk mounted color touchscreens.
- Wireless wall-mounted or hand held color touchscreens.
- RF (radio frequency) hand held remote controls that do not require line-of-site to operate.

- We are Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Certified home theater designers.
- Complete audio systems featuring Dolby Digital ATMOS, Digital Theater Systems (DTS) and THX surround sound. We will also provide the newest formats and processers as they become available..
- Front, rear, floor or ceiling mounted video projectors. Screen sizes range from five feet, to one-hundred feet.
- Acoustical consulting and treatments.
- Full design of theater spaces including design drawings, space planning, furniture, lighting, and accessories.
- Multiple remote controls are eliminated by the use of computerized control systems, Touchpanels, and clever learning remote controls. For example, one remote, or touch screen now operates all of your equipment. Smart phones, tablets and iPads can also double as control devices.

Residential Clients – (partial)
Gil Nickel – Far Niente Winery – Napa Valley.
Gil has completed a vacation home in Lake Tahoe. We designed and installed first-class audio and video systems throughout the house. A wonderful home theater systems in both the great room and the master bedroom have been included. In addition, The outside decks and the surrounding grounds are also covered with sound. Gill also has a home on Nob Hill in San Francisco, where we installed audio and video throughout this residence. Likewise, we have also designed and installed audio systems throughout the Far Niente Winery in Napa valley. Areas of audio at the winery include the owner’s quarters and all of the public and office spaces. An outdoor P.A. system is also installed in the Terrace to cover the very large party area. The Terrace is also features vine-covered trellises. A hot tub with its own audio system for live performers is also part of the Terrace A/V system.
oprah winfrey
Another one of our large projects, a compute controlled system for the Telluride residence of Ms. Oprah Winfrey. We designed and installed multi-source, multi-zone audio, video and control systems throughout the home, inside and out. Including, pop-up televisions, high-end JBL speakers and control panels in all rooms. There are multiple surround sound systems and speakers are even included in the shower. In addition, we provided a high level sound system for the exercise room. A wonderful Home Theater System was included in the lower-level of this beautiful log home.
Jeffrey Jacobs – President of harpo productions – Oprah winfrey show
Jeffrey is Oprah Winfrey’s attorney, business partner and the president of Harpo Productions, which produced the “Oprah Winfrey Show”. Mr. Jacobs owns a 40 million-dollar video production studio (HARPO Studios), in Chicago along with Oprah Winfrey. So, he is very knowledgeable in the areas of audio and video systems and equipment. He chose Applause Multimedia to design and install sophisticated computer based, audio, video and control systems throughout his home in Tesuque, New Mexico.
robert white – ceo arc international
Robert White of Aspen, Colorado, retained us to design extensive audio, video and satellite systems throughout his home. This fifteen-thousand square-foot residence is located in Owl Creek, Aspen. This was a very large, complex project that was completed without a hitch. Channel 7 news in Denver ran a segment on this home after the Academy awards on February 29th. It was featured as “one of the most expensive homes in Colorado” and is currently on the market for 18 million dollars.
Brent redstone
The Redstone family has controlling interest in the CBS television network, Via-Com, Paramount Pictures and the United Paramount Television Network. The Redstone holdings also include the Blockbuster Video Stores. They have the largest entertainment conglomerate in the world. We designed extensive audio and video systems throughout this ten thousand square foot log home in Colorado for Brent Redstone.

Another Applause project was a three million-dollar Penthouse at One Polo Place in Cherry Creek for Mr. Mike Leprino. We designed and installed a Crestron computer based, audio, video and control system. Included is a Yamaha Disclavier player grand piano that can be controlled from any room in the house. Only one simple Touchpanel remote control is needed to access any component in the system, from any room in the residence. This high-quality system is extremely easy to use. In addition, we also installed a whole-house audio and video system for Mike and Suzy Leprino’s mountain home in Cordillera, Colorado. This system features control via Crestron wireless Touchpanels and it has a beautiful home theater.
mitch and linda hart
The Rocky Mountains are the setting for a very large computer-based audio, video and home automation system. Video Touchpanels are included in every room. This system was installed in the residence of Mitch and Linda Hart (founders of The Home Depot stores). This is a thirteen million dollar home at the top of the Ski Mountain and one of our finest audio, video and home automation system installations.
larry romrell
One of our larger projects is a computer controlled audio and video system for Mr. Larry Romrell. This system includes a stunning home theater. Larry is the Chairman of the board of directors for Liberty Media which owns Direct-TV, The Discovery Channel, Sound Deluxe, as well as many other entertainment holdings. A very large whole-house audio, video and control system was installed in this home. There is a spectacular commercial home theater system featuring JBL Cinema speaker stacks. In addition, a 16 foot video screen, a professional video projector and all professional head-end audio and video components are featured. Applause also installed audio and PA systems in the horse riding arena and the airplane hanger.

Applause designed and installed a very large system in this magnificent Colorado residence. This is a Crestron Digital Media system that provides high-definition uncompressed high-definition video throughout the home. This system includes sixteen zones and over 100 speakers. There is also a beautiful home theater system featured. In addition to the theater, a main-level media room was also included. Audio and video are everywhere in this home. A recent upgrade included new interchangeable hand-held Touchscreen remote controls. All system components and zones can be controlled with any of the remotes from anywhere in the home. This has been a really fun, ongoing project and Randy and Debby have become good personal friends!

Yale Gieszl, Executive Vice-President of Toyota Motor Sales, has a beautiful mountain home in a Colorado resort town. Applause designed and installed a Crestron whole house audio, video, and control system providing premium sound and video throughout his home.

We designed and installed whole-house Crestron computerized audio, video and control systems along with a stunning Home Theater for Mr. Steve Ells. Steve is the creator and owner of the Chipotle Mexican Grill Restaurants. In addition, we then went on to design and install high-end audio systems for around eighty of the Chipotle Mexican Grill Restaurants.
Jim lovell
Jim Lovell is the PREMIER building contractor in Colorado! No one turns out a finer product than Jim. We have designed and installed whole-house audio, video and control systems in two of Mr. Lovell’s personal residences. In addition, we have provided systems for many of his high-end home construction projects.
Larry Hough
Larry has a large, vacation home in Silverthorne, Colorado. We first designed and installed whole-house audio, video and control systems for Larry over 18 years ago! The lower-level has one of the finest home theater systems that we have ever designed. It includes JBL Cinema series main speakers, surround speakers and sub-woofers. As well as, Crown Audio Macro-Tech power amplifiers, Lexicon surround-sound processor, high-end source components and a JVC DILA video projector. Upgrades have been made often throughout the years. Most recently we completed a Crestron control system upgrade. We also added new streaming televisions and new surround processors. Finally we installed a new super-high-speed, high-penetrating Mesh Wi-Fi system. This allows for high-speed internet access throughout the home.
